
Ken Ungar, President and Founder of U/S Sports Advisors, is a sports business coach helping athletes find success off the playing field.
Through one-on-one coaching sessions, Ungar teaches his clients the essential business concepts necessary to succeed in the fast paced game of sports business. From personal brand definition and positioning, to media training, selling sponsorships and endorsements, understanding agents and legal issues, to assembling a team of advisors, and everything in between, Ungar not only teaches fundamental business skills, he helps his clients prepare comprehensive plans for their careers.
Ungar also presents sports business seminars across the country teaching these critical concepts to athletes and teams. The concepts of the seminars are based on Ungar’s recently published book, Ahead of the Game: What Every Athlete Needs to Know About Sports Business.
The insight and expertise driving Ungar’s work comes from over a decade at the highest levels of professional football, motorsports, basketball, baseball, and others. Over his career, Ungar has seen the sports world through the eyes of a marketer, league representative, promoter, and business leader. While in these roles, Ungar created and executed deals with major companies, such as Disney, Honda, XM Satellite Radio, Tag Heuer, and many others. Additionally, his media interviews have been carried on such shows as ABC World News Tonight, Good Morning America, Fox Business’ Money for Breakfast, and ESPN Sports Center.
Before entering sports business, Ungar achieved success in many other business challenges as well. Beginning his professional career as a practicing attorney, he directed legal matters and handled litigation for corporate clients. From there, he moved on to public service, where he served as Indiana Governor Evan Bayh’s Deputy Chief of Staff for four years.
Ungar is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and business. He went on to graduate from Columbia University with a degree in law. He currently resides in Zionsville, Indiana with his wife and two sons.
